Review:
This is how you do an action film. Not many are able to hold up against the fierce entertainment of Mission: Impossible - Fallout. A well executed plot, paced with expert precision leads to easily the best entry into the franchise.

Stunt work is absolutely mystifying. Each sequence appears to be more death-defying than the last as Cruise and co attempt to up the ante. Tom Cruise became the first actor to ever perform a military HALO jump (High Altitude, Low Open) after arduous training spanning the course of a year. The way in which it is shot is spectacular - a cameraman skydiving alongside Cruise with a Red Weapon 6K camera strapped to his head. It's followed up by an impressive bathroom brawl that took weeks to film and an elaborate motorcycle chase through the streets of Paris. Incredible how Cruise continues to push the boundaries for what can be done authentically on screen. Even the way he runs is spellbinding - in spite of a broken ankle obtained during a rooftop jump. And as the film comes to a close, Cruise shows no sign of slowing down with a climactic game of cat and mouse through a mid-air onslaught between two helicopters in which Cruise obviously pilots one.

New members of the cast instantly adapt to fit their fresh surroundings. Henry Cavill is an accomplished physical force opposite of Ethan's smaller stature. He has the suave figure needed to be in a spy film but also the tenacity needed to be an authoritarian antagonist. Plus that 'arm gun reload' is such a cool improvised character detail. Vanessa Kirby is charismatic in a role shrouded by inconsistencies and secrecy - characteristics that draw intrigue from the audience.

Similarly, to other features in the Mission: Impossible franchise the locations are diverse in Mission: Impossible - Fallout. It results in increasingly raw backdrops and colours allowing for each film to remain distinct and original. The main theme is as triumphant as ever.

Continuing to break trends and create new groundwork, Mission: Impossible - Fallout goes from stride to stride. Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One is now eagerly anticipated viewing.
