UK Release Date:   3 February 2012 Certification:   12A Director:  Asger Leth Cast:  Elizabeth Banks, Jamie Bell, Edward Burns, Patrick Collins, Ed Harris, Anthony Mackie, Genesis Rodriguez, Titus Welliver, Sam Worthington Rating: 38% You can only push an innocent man so far. Review: I felt the acting was quite a bit iffy in Man on a Ledge . Sam Worthington, most notably known for his role in Avatar , isn't particularly convincing in his role and in my opinion was very poor as he isn't even able to maintain an American accent. Elizabeth Banks is relegated to quite frankly a character that purely dumps exposition which is more a poor use of her talent rather than bad acting. Mike Ackerman, played by Anthony Mackie, in my opinion is more of a glorified cameo than anything else and there wasn't much depth to his character arc - if he even had one at all. On the other hand, Jamie Bell and Genesis Rodriguez were quite good in my opinion. The charisma between their characters, Jo

UK Release Date:   10 February 2021 Certification:   12A Director:  Paul Greengrass Cast:  Michael Angelo Covino, Fred Hechinger, Tom Hanks, Elizabeth Marvel, Ray McKinnon, Thomas Francis Murphy, Helena Zengal Rating: 85 % I'm backing News of the World at the Oscars. In News of the World he plays a tired civil war veteran trying to return a young child back to her home. He's able to express everyone one of his emotions to the audience making me cry a little as most of his movies do.  Hanks is getting on a bit in real life but I thought it was his most action heavy movie since Saving Private Ryan and Road to Perdition  showing he still has that side to his acting repertoire.  I thought Hanks' co-star, to me an unknown 12-year-old German actress, Helena Zengel was superb.  It's not just me that believes th

Raiders of the Lost Ark

UK Release Date:   30 July 1981 Certification:   PG Director:  Steven Spielberg Cast:  Karen Allen, John Rhys-Davies, Denholm Elliott, Harrison Ford, Paul Freeman, Ronald Lacey, Alfred Molina Rating: 80 % The Return of the Great Adventure.  Review: Steven Spielberg, one of the greatest directors of all time coming off of the back of classics; Jaws and Close Encounters of the Third Kind . Harrison Ford one of the most in demand actors at the time. Put them together you get 'the' action-adventure classic,  Raiders of the Lost Ark . An action-adventure movie needs to have decent action and  Raiders of the Lost Ark does have that. A lot of the practical effects are actually still very impressive. The opening scene is of course iconic and is perhaps the highlight of the movie. Another action set-piece that has become extremely well-known over the years is the chase scene in the market in Cairo which is a particularly funny moment in the movie.  Along with Han Solo and Rick Deckard
