UK Release Date: 04 March 2022 Certification: 15 Director: Matt Reeves Cast: Paul Dano, Colin Farrell, Zoë Kravitz, Robert Pattinson, Andy Serkis, John Turturro, Jeffrey Wright Rating: 97% "If you are justice please do not lie. What is the price for your blind eye?" Review: Batman is my favourite comic book hero of all time so it's safe to say I was absolutely buzzing to be watching Matt Reeves' The Batman on opening weekend. It's hard not to compare The Batman to The Dark Knight - the best comic book movie of all time -    but the film creates its own unique, bleak story that is more like a Seven rather than a superhero movie.  Matt Reeves does an excellent job taking the character back to his roots whilst crafting an artistic film. Batman's original comic book run describes him as 'the world's greatest detective' and we've yet to see that on the big screen but The Batman delivers on that promise. It's nice to see Batman be the sm...

Batman Begins

UK Release Date: 16 June 2005 Certification: 12A Director: Christopher Nolan Cast: Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Rutger Hauer, Katie Holmes, Cillian Murphy, Liam Neeson, Gary Oldman, Ken Watanabe, Tom Wilkinson Rating: 88% "Why do we fall sir?" Review: The cast assembled for Batman Begins is world class and the casts performance's are a large factor in the success of the movie. Christian Bale is extremely good in Batman Begins , his body transformation is outstanding and h is voice is the perfect fit for Batman . Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman are standouts and provide great performances in supporting roles. Every single piece of dialogue from both is quotable. I liked Katie Holmes in the role of Rachel Dawes, so I would have preferred her to stay on in the role in subsequent movies (rather than Maggie Gyllenhaal). And finally Gary Oldman who, besides Heath Ledger (Joker,) probably plays my favourite character in the whole trilogy, Jim Gordo...

Batman

UK Release Date: 11 August 1989 Certification: 12 Director: Tim Burton Cast: Kim Basinger, Michael Gough, Pat Hingle, Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson, Billy Dee Williams, Robert Wuhl Rating: 57 % "Wait 'til they get a load of me." Review: Like many comic book movies from the 1980's and 1990's Batman doesn't stand the test of time . Tim Burton directs, but in my opinion didn't take the project seriously. Batman is so over the top, but incredibly slow paced at the same time. I know that Tim Burton's Batman is loved by many fans, but as a teenager watching the movie for the first time, it felt dated and devoid of action. I generally love comic book movies but Batman is the exception to date. Michael Keaton is ok as the lead. His performance feels off compared to  Christian Bale's or Ben Affleck's interpretation of the same character [although Keaton donned the mask before Bale and Affleck]. Keaton is oblivious to what is happenin...
