Supernatural-horror, The Others , is certainly deserving of a higher appreciation when it comes to discussing modern horror.  Nicole Kidman is tremendous in the lead role. Playing, Grace, mother to Anne (Alakina Mann) and Nicholas (James Bentley), just weeks after her public divorce with Tom Cruise. That doesn't detract from her performance whatsoever as she shines in The Others . Frightened but at the same time completely unhinged. UK Release Date: 3 November 2017 Certification: 15 Director: Yorgos Lanthimos Cast: Raffey Cassidy, Colin Farrell, Barry Keoghan, Nicole Kidman, Sunny Suljic Rating: 67% A24's most disturbing and bizarre film.  Review: After having some time to reflect and digest A24 film,  The Killing of a Sacred Deer I still don't truly know what to think but I'll try to translate my thoughts across here in this review. One thing I do know is that this is a thoroughly metaphorically complex film that will need to be viewed multiple times to be fully appreciated.  Colin Farrell plays Steven, a surgeon with a wife and two kids - a normal life. I will save you, Mother! I will kill you, Fjölnir!" Review: The Northman is acclaimed director Robert Eggers' third feature film and it lives up to the hype. A Viking story unlike anything I've ever seen before. It's visually stunning, has a boisterous score and some superb performances.  I hadn't seen a Robert Eggers film before  The Northman  so the first half an hour was just bizarre and it did take me a while to acclimatise to what exactly I was watching. Review: The casting of Ben Whishaw as Paddington is a masterstroke . The  sense of naivety and innocence in Whishaw's voice personifies the character brilliantly. Michael Gambon and Imelda Staunton's voice work was also very good and equally suited the characters of Uncle Pastuzo and Aunt Lucy.  Alongside the CGI bears the live actors were excellent. Hugh Bonneville was hilarious as Henry Brown. He carried a huge amount of charisma and the perfect amount of stubbornness to the softer, more caring, Mary Brown (played by Sally Hawkins). UK Release Date: 14 December 2018 Certification: 12A Director: James Wan Cast: Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Nicole Kidman, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II Rating:  50 % They made me what I am: a son of the land, a king of the seas.   Review:  In Aquaman , director James Wan has successfully created a world unlike any other. The visual spectacle of the underwater city, with the multitude of colours took my breathe away from the first moment I saw Atlantis. The enormous scale of Atlantis is impressive but the director skilfully uses CGI to illustrate the fine detail; for example, the cargo-bearing turtles and whales and the design of the Atlantean's ships, which all look like marine animals. I was a little sceptical ahead of Aquaman as James Wan made his name directing horror movies such as Annabelle , Saw and The Conjuring . I was worried that Aquaman would be too dark, but this is by far the funniest movie in the DC Extended Universe...
