Mac's Movies

The Terminator franchise is such a mixed bag of films. It contains some of the most iconic action sci-fi movies of all time as well as some of the worst. Being honest, I don't think there was a legitimate need to make a movie once James Cameron left the franchise, he's the reason these movies are as good as they are. Below is my ranking of The Terminator movies: 06. Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines 05. Terminator Salvation 04. Terminator Genisys 03. Terminator: Dark Fate 02. Terminator 2: Judgment Day 01. The Terminator "I'll be back" A lot of people may argue that  Terminator 2: Judgement Day  is an improvement upon the original but my favourite is  The Terminator . James Cameron is forced to work on a limited budget but is able to produce the perfect combination between horror, sci-fi and action that has aged like a fine wine.  

I personally believed that 2021 was a brilliant year for cinema - a return to form after the pandemic. 2022 looks set to do the same with it's heavy realise schedule. For example, DC movies such as; The Flash , Black Adam and Aquaman 2 all missed out on this list even though I would still like to see them.  If a movie has had a trailer released at this point the it will be linked below.  10. In what was yet another crazy and uncertain year, 2021 was still able to provide us with some excellent movies across all mediums. There's been a few that I've possibly missed over the course of the year but in my opinion these are the ten best movies of 2021: 10. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings 09. Ghostbusters: Afterlife 08. The Power of the Dog 07. No Time to Die 06. The Suicide Squad 05. Tick, tick...BOOM! 04. Spider-Man: No Way Home 03. A Quiet Place Part II 02. Zack Snyder's Justice League 01. Dune The Best Movie of 2021 Dune was so good that I needed more of it's world and I got the book for Christmas. The movie stuck with me for weeks with it's excellent cast, stunning visuals and swelling score. Denis Villeneuve has quickly became one of the best directors currently working and I absolutely can't wait for the sequel in 2023. 

The MCU is easily my favourite movie franchise. Over the course of 13 years they've made 27 movies, with many more in the works, and raised just over $25 billion at the box office. So following the start to phase four and the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home , I've decided to re-rank the movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. 27. Thor: The Dark World 26. Iron Man 2 25. 2019 was a great year for movies and cinema in general. 2020 promises to be equally as good.  Twelve months ago I started Mac's Movies with a blog post entitled My Most Anticipated Movies of 2019 .Therefore it seems fitting that I start the new year with My Most Anticipated Movies of 2020. So here are the ten movies that I am most looking forward to, and if any of them have already released a trailer I have attached a hyperlink to it. 10. As 2019 comes to a close and a new decade begins, I wanted to look back at each year's best movie from the past decade. In this instance, I have only ranked movies that I have seen. 2010 . Despicable Me 2011 . Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 2012 . Avengers Assemble 2013. Now You See Me 2014 . Captain America: Winter Soldier 2015 . Star Wars: The Force Awakens 2016 . Deadpool 2017 . Logan 2018 . Avengers: Infinity War 2019 . Avengers: Endgame Avengers Endgame has to be my favourite movie of the decade. I will never forget the experience of seeing it on the opening weekend, with all the associated hype. I clapped, cheered, smiled and cried, all in the space of three hours. Goosebumps. For the past wee while, I haven't been as active on my blog as I would like, due to the pressure of school work. However I will get back into my blog over the festive season. The 31st of July is many things to me. It is my friend's birthday. It is my uncle's birthday. And it is also Harry Potter's birthday.  Born on the 31st of July 1980, Harry James Potter is one of my favourite fictional characters. I love J.K Rowling's books. I love the movies. I love the rides at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando - well, most of them.  So to celebrate Harry's 39th birthday here is my ranking of the Wizarding World movies. 10. 9 July is one of the world's most talented actor's birthday. Tom Hanks has received five Best Actor Oscar nominations and won two - for Philadelphia (1993) and Forrest Gump (1994). As he is my favourite actor  I thought I would share with you my five favourite Tom Hanks movies I have seen as of 9 July 2019. 05. Road To Perdition 04. Toy Story 4 03. Saving Private Ryan 02. The Terminal 01. Forrest Gump Forrest Gump is a cinematic masterpiece and my second favourite movie of all time. It is the movie where Tom Hanks gets to shine the most and he thoroughly deserved his award for his portrayal of Forrest Gump. Tom Hanks is a phenomenal actor so he is associated with many fabulous movies. Honourable mentions for this list include Big , Cast Away and all of the Toy Story movies. Following the recent release of the heavily criticised X-Men: Dark Phoenix , I thought I would share my ranking of an inconsistent franchise that I love nonetheless. Following the recent release of the phenomenal Avengers: Endgame and the second Spider-Man: Far from Home trailer, I have decided to rank my favourite movie franchise, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The MCU is a juggernaut of a movie franchise overseen by Kevin Feige, that began with the release of Iron Man in 2008 and twenty one movies later doesn't seem to be showing signs of stopping anytime soon. Wonder Woman is my favourite movie in the DCEU because it has the strongest plot and best action scenes, but Aquaman is the more entertaining movie so I would be more likely to re-watch Aquaman .
