UK Release Date: 18 November 2021 Certification: 12A Director: Jason Reitman Cast: Carrie Coon, McKenna Grace, Logan Kim, Celeste O'Connor, Paul Rudd, Finn Wolfhard Rating: 80% "I ain't afraid of no ghost" Review:  For a point of reference, I'm not the hugest fan of Ghostbusters (1984) but after the buzz around Ghostbusters: Afterlife I was excited to see a third try at a sequel. And in all honesty I preferred this movie to the original outing.  Firstly, Ghostbusters: Afterlife is an intimate film that is treated delicately and with care. The movie is directed by Jason Reitman, son of Ivan Reitman - who directed Ghostbusters - and  you can tell. He cherishes his father's source material choosing to honour it in almost every turn without the fan service feeling tacked on. In what was yet another crazy and uncertain year, 2021 was still able to provide us with some excellent movies across all mediums. There's been a few that I've possibly missed over the course of the year but in my opinion these are the ten best movies of 2021: 10. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings 09. Ghostbusters: Afterlife 08. The Power of the Dog 07. No Time to Die 06. The Suicide Squad 05. Tick, tick...BOOM! 04. Spider-Man: No Way Home 03. A Quiet Place Part II 02. Zack Snyder's Justice League 01. Dune The Best Movie of 2021 Dune was so good that I needed more of it's world and I got the book for Christmas. The movie stuck with me for weeks with it's excellent cast, stunning visuals and swelling score. Denis Villeneuve has quickly became one of the best directors currently working and I absolutely can't wait for the sequel in 2023. 

2019 was a great year for movies and cinema in general. 2020 promises to be equally as good.  Twelve months ago I started Mac's Movies with a blog post entitled My Most Anticipated Movies of 2019 .Therefore it seems fitting that I start the new year with My Most Anticipated Movies of 2020.
