Back when investigations into the police force were seen on screen every few months - Internal Affairs , L.A. Confidential and Training Day . Cop Land may lack originality, but for the most part it's a solid crime film.  The cast is stacked. Full of big name, A-list actors akin to that of one of Scorsese's works. Yet, it's Sylvester Stallone that steals the show with a terrific performance. Sheriff, Freddy Heflin, hindered by being partially deaf is portrayed superbly by Stallone. Review: Westerns has never been my favourite genre   because most of the time they feel really slow so the performances have to be top notch. And they certainly are. Russel Crowe is the best he's ever been - disregarding Gladiator of course. He plays outlaw, Ben Wade, with such a terrifying arrogance and swagger that instantly drew me in to the movie. But at the same time he's charismatic, charming and cunning which makes him such a divisive and conflicted figure. Christian Bale is one of my favourite actors so I'm always interested to watch whatever he appears in.
