UK Release Date: 12 May 2000 Certification: 15 Director: Ridley Scott Cast: Spencer Treat Clark, Russel Crowe, Richard Harris, Djimon Hounsou, Connie Nielsen, Joaquin Phoenix, Oliver Reed Rating: 86% We who are about to die, salute you! Review: I didn't know a lot about Gladiator and wasn't expecting too much having endured Ridley Scott's 2008 lethargic remake of Robin Hood . But Gladiator is an excellent movie. It actually won five Oscars in 2001, including Best Picture and Best Actor. The action is incredible. The use of medieval weapons and t he fact that the movie uses iconic venues like the Colosseum makes the action realistic and believable. Joaquin Phoenix, who plays Commodus, appears to be auditioning for Joker 19 years before he landed the role. Phoenix delivers an extremely creepy but brilliant villain with no redeeming qualities. UK Release Date: 10 April 2015 Certification: 15 Director: Chad Stahelski Cast: Alfie Allen, Willem Dafoe, Ian McShane, Michael Nyqvist, Adrianne Palicki, Lance Reddick, Keanu Reeves, Dean Winters  Rating: 88% Don't set him off. Review: The reason that John Wick works so well is that I was invested in the main character. Keanu Reeves as John Wick is perfect casting, he suits the character so well. John was angry, caring and funny at different times throughout the movie and Keanu Reeves played that aspect of the character effortlessly.  Supporting cast members Alfie Allen, Willem Dafoe and Michael Nyqvist are all excellent, especially Alfie Allen who plays Iosef Tarasov - probably the character I wanted to die the most in a movie. Whilst Ian McShane and Lance Reddick don't have much screen time they still add gravitas to John Wick .  [Spoiler] Finally, Andy the beagle, John Wick's dog was so cute and I was mad when he was killed.
