Oblivion

UK Release Date: 10 April 2013 Certification: 12A Director: Joseph Kosinki Cast: Tom Cruise, Morgan Freeman, Olga Kurylenko, Melissa Leo, Andrea Risborough, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Rating: 46% The state of being unaware or unconscious of what is happening around one. Review: Oblivion is probably the most confusing movie I have watched to date. If someone asked me too describe the plot I could probably only describe the first 30 minutes of the movie pretty well. My attention was stretched whilst watching Oblivion as I was just trying to figure out what was going on. I wasn't alone - m y mum nicknamed this movie 'Confusion.' I e ventually did realise what was happening, but not until after the movie ended. This isn't a criticism of Oblivion because if a movie gets y ou thinking it means you must have been slightly interested in it.  To some degree, the performances of Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman save Oblivion .  Both are interesting in their rol

Ranking all the MCU Movies

Following the recent release of the phenomenal Avengers: Endgame and the second Spider-Man: Far from Home trailer, I have decided to rank my favourite movie franchise, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The MCU is a juggernaut of a movie franchise overseen by Kevin Feige, that began with the release of Iron Man in 2008 and twenty one movies later doesn't seem to be showing signs of stopping anytime soon. Here is my ranking of all the MCU movies to date. Along with hyperlinks to my review of the movie [ I do plan on reviewing every MCU movie for Mac's Movies]:   22. Iron Man 2 21. Thor: The Dark World 20. Thor 19. Ant-Man and the Wasp 18. Iron Man 3 17. The Incredible Hulk 16. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 15. Avengers: Age of Ultron 14. Captain America: The First Avenger 13. Doctor Strange 12. Black Panther 11. Ant-Man 10 . Iron Man 09. Captain Marvel 08. Spider-Man: Homecoming 07. Guardians of the Galaxy 06. Thor: Ragnarok 05. C

Avengers: Endgame

UK Release Date: 25 April 2019 Certification: 12A Director: Anthony Russo, Joe Russo Cast: Josh Brolin, Don Cheadle, Bradley Cooper, Chris Evans, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr, Brie Larson, Jeremy Renner, Paul Rudd, Mark Ruffalo Rating: 90% "Whatever It Takes" Re view: [Spoiler] I have seen Avengers: Endgame twice now and I'm sorry, there is absolutely no way I can review the movie without spoiling it.  Avengers: Endgame is a defining cinematic moment. It is my generation's Star Wars: Return of the Jedi , The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King or Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 . All I was thinking about for months was the conclusion of The Infinity Saga. I watched all of the trailers and theory videos online, but was careful that I wasn't exposed to any plot spoilers. And I have to say that Avengers: Endgame has become my favourite movie of all time. Avengers: Endgame has b

Avengers: Infinity War

UK Release Date: 26 April 2019 Certification: 12A Director: Anthony Russo, Joe Russo Cast: Josh Brolin, Bradley Cooper, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Holland, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr, Chris Pratt, Mark Ruffalo, Zoe Saldana Rating: 96% "Zip it, Thanos." Review: [Spoiler] My review of Avengers: Infinity War contains several spoilers. For me, the best part of Avengers: Infinity War is the development of Thor's character. He has lost everything - a broken God - but despite this remains entertaining throughout most of the movie. I loved the hilarious exchanges with the Guardians of the Galaxy which beautifully sets up the 'Asgardians of the Galaxy.' I hope Thor features prominently in the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie.  Thanos is my second favourite villain in the MCU, behind Loki. Thanos is the main protagonist of Avengers: Infinity War . If the Russo brothers didn't cleverly afford Thanos the most screen

Star Wars Movie Ranking

Image
May the 4th be with you! I am very excited following the release of the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker trailer - the movie comes out in the UK on the 19th of December 2019. And since today is Star Wars Day, I thought I would rank the Star Wars movie franchise. 10. Star Wars: Attack of the Clones 09. Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith 08. Star Wars: The Phantom Menace 07. Star Wars: The Last Jedi 06. Solo: A Star Wars Story 05. Star Wars: The Force Awakens 04. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story 03. Star Wars: Return of the Jedi 02. Star Wars: A New Hope 01. Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...." Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back is my favourite because of the iconic line, “Luke, I am your father." Arguably, one of the best scenes in a movie ever and other Star Wars movies have failed to replicate this jaw-dropping plot twist. Avengers: Age of Ultron

UK Release Date: 23 April 2015 Certification: 12A Director: Joss Whedon Cast: Paul Bettany, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Robert Downey Jr, Elizabeth Olsen, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, James Spader Rating: 69 % "Is that the best you can do?" Review: At the time of release I believed Avengers: Age of Ultron was another Iron Man 2 . What I mean by this, is that the sequels are more convoluted than the originals ( Avengers Assemble and Iron Man respectively). The sequels give you more of what you loved about the original movies but both have way too many subplots. Iron Man 2 attempts to set up Avengers Assemble and Avengers: Age of Ultron attempts to set up Captain America: Civil War , Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War . However, in my opinion, the biggest disappointment of Avengers: Age of Ultron , is Ultron himself. After seeing the trailers for this movie I thought Ultron would be deadly serious, a form
