Their quirky filmmaking and strange characters are present as always but there's a certain subtlety about the film that sets it apart from anything else like it.  The characters brought to life in Fargo are all worth studying. You can tell almost every aspect of each of their personalities from one action. Frances McDormand obviously deserved all the plaudits for her performance as simpleton Marge Gunderson, winning an Oscar. Her character is so straightforward and yet she is one of the most relatable characters ever brought to the big screen. William H. Macy stars as Jerry Lundegaard who can't be described as a 'bad guy' as his intentions are understandable, if stupid. ...

Review: No Country for Old Men is a visceral movie experience created by the Coen brothers. The modern western centres around Llewelyn Moss’ attempted getaway with $2 million from serial killer, Anton Chigurh. The visual storytelling, stunning shots and unique characters combine for one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. The three central performances are pivotal to the success of No Country for Old Men .  Josh Brolin delivers the best performance of his career. Simmons, Marlon Wayans Rating: 63 % The Ladykillers is the first Coen brothers movie I have seen. I'd like to see more. Review: The Coen brothers' The Ladykillers is a dark comedy based on the 1955 Ealing comedy starring Sir Alec Guinness and Peter Sellers. The modern adaptation sees Tom Hanks cast in the lead role, and of course he delivers a masterful performance. The well written dialogue allowed Hanks to chew up the scenery with many notable lines, and many unintelligible, to impress the audience with.  However in my opinion the best and funniest character is Gaiwan MacSam terrifically played by Marlon Wayans. The character's style of humour is brilliant, if a wee bit adult and pushes the movie's 15 certification as far as possible. I also thought that J.K.
