As 2019 comes to a close and a new decade begins, I wanted to look back at each year's best movie from the past decade. In this instance, I have only ranked movies that I have seen. 2010 . Despicable Me 2011 . Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 2012 . Avengers Assemble 2013. Now You See Me 2014 . Captain America: Winter Soldier 2015 . Star Wars: The Force Awakens 2016 . Deadpool 2017 . Logan 2018 . Avengers: Infinity War 2019 . Avengers: Endgame Avengers Endgame has to be my favourite movie of the decade. I will never forget the experience of seeing it on the opening weekend, with all the associated hype. I clapped, cheered, smiled and cried, all in the space of three hours. Goosebumps. Hopefully the next decade will be just as good for movies. Look out for my most anticipated movies of 2020 blog post in the next couple of days.

Review: X-Men: Dark Phoenix is the latest and last instalment in 20th Century Fox’s X-Men franchise. It isn’t quite the finale that some fans were hoping for, but it is not as bad as some of the reviews out there and is better than a few of the previous X-Men movies. I have already ranked the 20th Century Fox X-Men movies. The aspect of X-Men: Dark Phoenix that I disliked most was the alien plot line. The aliens are generic and their motives are not explained in enough detail. Following the recent release of the heavily criticised X-Men: Dark Phoenix , I thought I would share my ranking of an inconsistent franchise that I love nonetheless.
