James Bond. Review:  No Time to Die is the final instalment of Daniel Craig's James Bond. It was the first movie to see major postponements due to the pandemic but it was worth the wait. The movie is not only it's own unique story but it's a brilliant sendoff to his portrayal of the iconic character.  Daniel Craig is brilliant on his final outing as James Bond. At times his age maybe spills through as he's not getting any younger but he does a great job. He can act emotively, he pulls off the cheesier lines and when an eventual new Bond is chosen they will have big shoes to fill. Review:  Rain Man released in 1988 - in America - a time where there weren't many, if any, films that showcased autism on a big scale. As a result of this the movie ended up grossing $354 million worldwide and won several academy awards including best actor, best picture and best director.  The plot is quite thin in Rain Man , not a lot actually happens during two hour runtime. It's essentially a road trip. But what makes the movie entertaining and captivating are the central performances from  Tom Cruise, Valeria Golino and Dustin Hoffman. Similarly, to early roles in Cruise's career - before he became the action star that he is today - he plays a fairly unlikeable character in Charlie Babbitt who when we first meet him is only concerned about inheriting $3 million...

It's based on Frank Herbert's 1965 novel of the same name which was a huge success and soon become a long running saga of sci-fi novels - I haven't read the book so knew near to nothing going in but  I would very much like to (no hints for Christmas).  A movie was released in 1984 to horrific reviews that saw it named as the worst movie of the year. Review: Christopher Nolan has quickly established himself as my favourite director and after watching Inception , this view has been reinforced further. I love how h e is able to convey a complex story that is easy enough to follow on first viewing, but equally adds so much more on further viewings.  Leonardo DiCaprio is excellent as Cobb, a complex and intriguing lead character. Cobb's struggles with reality become more and more evident as the movie goes on and DiCaprio deserves full credit for this as movies tend not to be shot in chronological order.
