"I'm just an ordinary man."
Review:
Unbreakable is another example of an entertaining comic book movie released before the recent Marvel and DC Hollywood blockbusters. M. Night Shyamalan does a great job delivering an interesting character study of two men who don't know their place in the world.
David Dunn (played by Bruce Willis), to me, is an appealing superhero struggling to come to terms with his own identity. The sole survivor of a massive train crash, David is confronted by a man named Elijah Price (played by the ever dependable Samuel L. Jackson) who thinks that both men are superheroes. David is initially in denial but starts to question this as the story unfolds.

And Elijah Price is a perfect foil for David Dunn. Elijah was born with broken bones and has a rare condition that means his bones break very easily, earning him the nickname Mr Glass. Upset that the young Elijah wouldn't go outside and play for fear that he would break his bones, Elijah's mum would give him a comic book every time he went outside as a reward. Because of this Mr Glass knows everything about comics, superheroes and villains and contacts David Dunn after the train crash because of his persistent belief that the two of them are superhuman.

I think Unbreakable is a good movie, but for me it reminded me of a weaker version of Iron Man. The fact that it was slow paced and didn't have many action scenes reminded me of Iron Man, but Iron Man had characters that I found more compelling and was more lively.
