"I've got a bad feeling about this."
Review:
Solo: A Star Wars Story is different from every other movie in the Star Wars franchise. Set before Star Wars: A New Hope, Solo: A Star Wars Story is an origin story detailing how Han Solo becomes involved in the criminal underworld of the galaxy.

The character Han Solo was recently named the Greatest Sci-fi Character of all time by Total Film magazine. Synonymous with Harrison Ford and his legendary performance in the original trilogy, I thought that Alden Ehrenreich did a good job of portraying Han Solo.

Alden Ehrenreich is what you would imagine a young Han Solo to look like and importantly act like. He brings charisma, sarcasm and a believable partnership with Chewbacca to the role that stays true to Harrison Ford’s portrayal.

The reason that Solo: A Star Wars Story works is because we are learning the backstory of characters that we know and love. For example, how Han, Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian first meet each other.

I also liked the ending and the twist was unexpected.

Solo: A Star Wars Story wasn’t perfect and had a few issues. First of all the timeline wasn’t clear. Did the story take place before or after the dreadful prequels? If it was set after the prequels it wouldn't make sense because Darth Maul appeared in the movie and The Empire traditionally only has one apprentice at a time [after the prequels Darth Vader is Emperor Palpatine's apprentice]. I also really didn't like Qi'ra and didn't understand why Han didn't see that she was untrustworthy.

I would say that both spin-off Star Wars movies (Solo: A Star Wars Story and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) were quite good and I am excited for any other spin-off movies that take place in the Star Wars universe.

  1. What other spin-offs would you like to see them do? Do you not think they have exhausted the franchise by now?

    1. I think that after the Star Wars movie this year they should take a 5 year break and come back with fresh ideas that would this franchise interesting again.
