Beauty And The Beast

UK Release Date: 17 March 2017 Certification: PG  Director: Bill Condon Cast: Luke Evans, Josh Gad, Kevin Kline, Ewan McGregor, Ian McKellen, Dan Stevens, Emma Watson Rating:   61 % A tale as old as time. Review: Beauty and the Beast is for me the best Disney live action remake to date because of the all-star cast, beautiful scenery and brilliant soundtrack. But then again, what else do you expect from Disney? Beauty and the Beast makes for a great movie for all of the family. Disney excel at getting great talent to fill their roles, and this is no different in Beauty and the Beast . Whether you're talking about legends of the screen like Sir Ian McKellen or more youthful actors like Emma Watson this movie has a cast to die for. And for me, none of the cast underperform. There is no one that comes across as unlikeable or uninteresting, apart from, of course, the main villain. I have to admit I quite like Emma Watson [after all I grew up with Hermione Grange...

Iron Man

UK Release Date: 2 May 2008 Certification: 12A Director: Jon Favreau Cast: Leslie Bibb, Jeff Bridges, Jon Favreau, Clark Gregg, Terrence Howard, Samuel L Jackson, Robert Downey Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow Rating: 80% "I am Iron Man" R eview: Where it all began. Iron Man , the first movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, MCU, is a good one. A sound base for a whole new genre of movies - the superhero blockbuster. I ron Man doesn't have the pressure that other movies in the MCU do. The audience didn't know that it was going to part of a connected universe when it was released. And that is what makes the movie, for a lot of people, an enjoyable experience. But when the then revolutionary post-cr edit scene appeared the audience were shocked and Kevin Feige (President of Marvel Studios) created a marketing masterpiece. People realised The Incredible Hulk was coming out and it was part of the same universe. This is why I love Iron Man so much.  One of the reas...

UK Release Date: 17 December 2009 Certification: 12A Director: James Cameron Cast: Stephan Lang, Joel David Moore, Michelle Rodriguez, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Sam Worthington Rating: 85% I speak for the trees. Review: Avatar , for me, is the best sci-fi movie that I have seen since I first watched the original Star Wars trilogy.  The lead performances from Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana are excellent in Avatar . Sam Worthington plays a disabled ex-marine, Jake Sully, who takes the place of his brother on an exhibition to Pandora after his brother is shot and killed. Jake's role on the exhibition is to pilot a human-Na'vi hybrid, an avatar. Usually the Na'vi kill avatars but Neytiri (Zoe Saldana's character) is shown a sign from their deity, Eywa when she first encounters Jake's avatar. T he leader of the Na'vi decides that Jake should be trained in the ways of the Na'vi. Jake learns the ways of the Na'vi and is embraced as one of...

Rampage

UK Release Date: 11 April 2018 Certification: 12A Director: Brad Peyton Cast: Marlin Akerman, Naomie Harris, Dwayne Johnson, Jake Lacy, Joe Manganiello, Jeffery Dean Morgan Rating:   42 % Curious George? Review: Rampage i s an action movie based on an  incredibly simple arcade game from the 1980s where a variety of monsters climb tall buildings and eat people. The movie stars Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) as an albino ape's trainer - a character who has a greater bond with animals than he does with humans. The albino ape, George and two other animals inhale a toxic gas that makes them massively increase in size and become more aggressive. Dwayne Johnson's character and Naomie Harris' character must prevent the monsters from destroying Chicago. This movie has many problems. Rampage's plot is predictable and on many occasions you can guess what is going to happen before it actually happens. For me the jokes in this movie fall flat because most of them are abou...
